having spent a few days in the low clouds and rain in the greater yellowstone area, i was incredibly excited at the appearance of the storm potentially lifting - even if it was just for an hour or two. so i stood and sat for an hour with my camera pointed at one of my favorite mountains, waiting for the “right moment” when the clouds would allow for the beautiful peak to poke through. after an hour and a conversation on what in god’s name i was trying to photograph, i got this image. the graphic nature and the abstraction of the mountain and the clouds make it one of my favorites from last year.
