The Portal

from $69.00

the soft lines of the water flowing over the rock are what drew me to include this image in the show. the fact that so much water covers the dark rock made me think of a hidden door behind the feathery white water movement, hence the name the portal.

as is the case in many of the images in this project, the image was shot at a slower shutter speed (in fact, this image was the slowest shutter speed of all of them) using a 135mm lens, and hand held. typically i wouldn’t try this, but i wanted a softer feel to the images as i knew they’d be shown next to paintings.

you can view more about this image in the artist interview at hydrodynamics.
