i love walking through forests because the light can change so much with each step. the shadows caused by the trees allowing lighting only on this particular spot or that spot. it’s fun finding something worth photographing and waiting for the light to hit your subject. it’s also maddening because more often than not, it never happens. but when it does happen, it’s fun! this was one of the fun moments in the forest - in northern wisconsin, an area i grew up. i spent a lot of time at this location swimming in the river, but not much much time in the woods. visiting years later, i found the opposite - spending all of my time in the woods and none in the water.
