The Old Barn

from 109.00

i was adopted when i was two years old - adopted by the kindest, wisest, most beautiful human beings i’ll likely ever know. when my father passed away, my sister found my baby book, and from that i was able to track down my birth mother. it took me nine months to muster up the courage to contact her. since i made contact, we’ve met, (through my half sister) i went to visit her in montana, and she’s come to visit me in colorado.

and this has to do with the image how?

i took this image while she was visiting and we were wandering through the mountains - the west side of rocky mountain national park to be more specific. just as items from years past which we have no actual connection can feel so familiar - as if an old friend, so too can a blood relationship with a person we have no, or limited history. and so it is, this barn is a reminder of my birth mother and the relationship we continue to build, and be blessed to have.
