hanging lake - a colorado classic. since my family lives elsewhere in the country, i don’t make it back to see them each year for the holidays. when i’m not with family for the holidays, i either volunteer or head to the mountains. there has been talk of implementing a permit system to visit hanging lake due to the numbers of people visiting and the disrespect shown by some of these visitors. as such, i figured i’d visit before the permit system kicks in on this thanksgiving day. this image was made using an nd filter to significantly slow down the shutter speed and get that soft, mystical quality on the falling water. this is available as a matted, 12x18 giclee pigment on baryta print
